Humbug Day and Ribbon Candy Day

We’re looking at a yin and yang kind of day today. We start off with a dark and grumbly humbug and finish up with some shiny, delicious ribbon candy!

Humbug Day

Humbug Day was created and copyrighted by wellcat.com as one of their wacky holidays. The intent of the holiday is for people preparing for Christmas to vent their frustrations.

There are a lot of stresses during the holiday season. Dealing with relatives, bills, trying to fill the kids’ wish lists, inclement weather and so much more can make a Scrooge out of almost anyone. Today is the day for getting it off your chest so you can face Christmas with a smile.

Ribbon Candy Day

Today is a great day to celebrate the holiday treat of Ribbon Candy!

It was invented by F.B. Washburn in 1856 as an addition to the candy maker’s repertoire. The candy flavors are designated by the color. Ribbon candy is typically an inch wide and four to six inches of undulating hard candy.

I love ribbon candy for its bright colors, s-curves and delicious flavors. It’s an American holiday tradition we all can enjoy.
