What’s Christmas without the food? Well, the same holds true for Christmas In July except that the food choices are designed to cool you off instead of warming you up. Putting labels on water bottles that say “Melted Snowman” is a great way to help your guests stay hydrated!
Fresh fruit can be used as decorative finger food and the base of a variety of colorful, festive punches. Slicing watermelon with Christmas cookie cutters is a fun way to create holiday-themed treats. Melon balls, cherries and blueberries can be arranged on a plate to look like a display of Christmas tree ornaments. Maraschino cherries (with stems) can be dipped in white chocolate and holiday sprinkles to make a delightfully sweet treat.
For savory holiday treats, cheese and raw vegetables are the way to bring Christmas into your summer celebration. You can also arrange cubed cheese, grapes and raw broccoli florets to form a Christmas tree snack tray that everybody will love. With the creative application of vegetables, you can make a cheese ball snowman that people will almost feel guilty about digging into.
For the meat-lovers at your party, adding pretzels into the buns of sliders can make them look like reindeer! Make your pizza dough green and use a pesto sauce instead of red pizza sauce to make the pizza slices look like Christmas trees.

Clothing
If you have a midsummer heatwave like we had this past weekend, a fur-lined Santa Claus suit is entirely out of the question!

If you’re going to have a Christmas In July party, you’re either going to want to have it in a skating rink or you’re going to want to invest in some season-appropriate attire. Something like a festive Hawaiian shirt or Christmas-themed tee is the way to go.
There are so many choices available online and in year-round Christmas specialty stores. If you’ve elected to hold your party in a seriously air-conditioned venue or even an ice skating rink, you can fish out your ugly Christmas sweaters and wear them to the party.
And don’t forget that you can even make a party game out of tie-dying shirts in Christmas colors or painting puffy paint ornaments and glitter glue garland on a green t-shirt to make your own Christmas tree shirts.
You can also find Christmas swimwear and pool accessories if you’re having a pool party. Christmas in July can definitely take place poolside if you happen to have access to a swimming pool. Red or green bathing suits are totally appropriate.
Avoiding white bathing suits is a good policy regardless of the party’s theme. If you’re not sure why, try it at home, alone, in the bathtub. Definitely not in public among even the closest of friends. Just don’t.
Decor
This is likely to be the easiest part of your party preparation. Chances are, you already have a wide variety of Christmas ornaments that you can use as party props. Then there’s the snow. Where on Earth are you going to get snow on the 25th of July at a pool or yard party? Well, as it turns out, you can make snow with a snowflake machine. You can make a bucket of snow with special snow mixture and have a summer snowball fight. If neither of those options appeals to you, you can even just serve up snow cones in jolly holiday flavors!
However you invoke the feeling of the holidays in the middle of summertime, the most important thing is keeping the Christmas spirit in your party. If you’re going to have a party, the trimmings are not nearly as important as making sure it’s fun for everyone involved. Bring a little joy to the scorching days of summer and have fun with the ones you love.
